Circa: 1950's Type: niloak pottery Manufacturer: Niloak Pottery Co.
Vintage Niloak Pottery Burma Camel Pacific Planter. c.1940's-early 50's. Heavy, matte white/tan camel novelty planter with raised Niloak mark on bottom. No chips or cracks and is about 5 wide x 3.5 high. Has a bit of soil residue on the interior of planter, and one tiny cigarette burn on interior bottom as you can see in one of the pictures. This planter is shown in the 2001 book by D. Gifford, pg. 253, plate 152. This is a Joe Alley designed castware item; the book calls these novelties, 'Pacific Planters' because they were made during WW 2. An awesome planter for your niloak or novelty collection. |
