Very old cotton nightdress or slip, (likely antique) with a cool celluloid or bakelite hanger. It appears that someone started to embroider the slip with turkey red thread, (bottom is initialed: ST); and there is a tiny dot pattern near top front where the stitching would have been applied if they had finished this item. It has no holes, some faint spots, and is 29.75 long not counting the straps which are 6.75 inches. The top width is 19 inches, and bottom width is 28.5 inches. You also get the vintage hanger which I believe is celluloid, (looks just like the celluloid vanity accessories from the 1920's & earlier, but might also be bakelite). A very cool, unique item to hang on display in the powder room, bedroom, etc. |
