Vintage baby navel protector. Very neat old item you may not have ever seen before! It is a cloth wrap that goes around an infants tummy to keep the navel protected until the little area heals after having the umbilical cord cut after birth! It was found in its original package, in an old trunk; unfortunately the package fell apart. The woman saved everything from her only child's birth, (she even had the old Curity cloth diapers, ruffled underpants, dresses, slips, etc.). The tag on this item reads: Gibbs. I do not think this was ever actually used. A great display item in the nursery; not being sold for actual use, just display! |
