Large antique enameled glass box. Attributed to Moser and I think I have found a signature, although it is very tiny and hard to know for sure, but there does appear to be a word in the glass, along lower portion of body of jar, not on the bottom of jar. You need a good magnifier to spot it. This is a good sized beautiful jar with hinged lid. Enhanced with gilding, and embellished with enamel. Just a bit of wear on the gilding, but overall condition is good, no chips or cracks. Stands 3.75 tall x 4.75 wide. Bottom rim edge is quite worn and smooth, indicating a lot of age. If it is not Moser it may well be Stevens and Williams; ebay is showing some similar boxes attributed to S&W. Well worth this price! ddauMC/1.07 |
