Circa: est: 1930's Manufacturer: unknown
Lovely vintage porcelain lamp. The flowers appear to be transferware, but it also has hand applied gold. No chips or cracks; it does have some wear off the gold, especially near top of the swans neck and edges of feet. Has impressed number on bottom: #8567?, hard to make it out. This lamp works but you need to replace the old cord as well as the top arm attachment that holds a shade, (easy to replace). I do have the brass finial that goes on the top. The finial alone would cost about $65+ at a specialty lamp shop. The flowers are roses, orchids, etc. The base is 5 x 5 inches wide; it is 12 inches tall up to rim of ceramic part; or 15 inches up to top of the light socket and 5.5 wide from end of swan to other end. When adding a shade it will be taller. Very feminine lamp. 11/08estcs |
