Large Mason's patent ironstone transferware platter. c: 1815+. Being sold as collectible display item and not for food use since I did not make it, nor do I know if it has anything harmful in it. Mason's was absorbed by the Wedgwood group; newer pieces have Ltd on them. Watteau pattern. Brown Transferware. Brown backstamp Mason's over crown then banner: Patent Ironstone China, then Watteau England, then 'Guaranteed Permanent Acid Resisting Colour' and #5. No chips or cracks; all over faint crazing. It is 14.25 wide. It is shown next to a dinner plate in one picture just to show you how large it is. A great platter to display!
