Manufacturer: Bennington Pottery Co.
Antique Bennington or Rockingham funnel cake mold and bread tray. c:1800's. Both for one price = only $60/each. The large mold is about 4.25 tall x 9.5 wide. Sponged design; Bennington made a lot of this type of pottery. It has a small chip on upper end of the center funnel part; hard to spot because it is dark; otherwise, very nice, see pic #5 This came from a historic estate that used to be a stagecoach station in MI, later converted to an odd farmhouse. Next is a neat bread pan with a wheat design on ends and the raised words: 'Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread'. Not sure who made it, but it is an early piece. It is 12 long x 10 wide. No cracks but it has a noticeable 3/4 inch glaze miss or chip on the flat portion with one bump in glaze; and some scratching. I would venture to say this is a very rare item. It resembles the 1960's brown dinnerware in the picture, but when you see it in person, it is not that ugly stuff and it is really old! 1/14kest#+ |
