Manufacturer: Robinson Ransbottom
Vintage RRP small oil jar vase. Very heavy; incised number on bottom which I think says: #139/. It has the dash line mark which is how I knew it was an RRP item. These oil jars came is a variety of sizes and colors; many were used for garden ware or as floor vases. This one appears to be hand thrown, (ridges in it and no mold line); bottom edge is also quite worn and smooth indicating age. Age estimate: 1930's or earlier. It stands 12 inches tall. Minor surface age/ware, but no chips or cracks. I have seen people display these in various sizes in 3's on the front porches; some add grasses and trailing plants. They can also be used indoors. And, you can spray paint them in any color you want to go with your decor; I sprayed some of my mauve oil jars in satin white by Rustoleum to give them a new contemporary life; see photo #8 of my oil jar! 6/17 |
