Heavy vintage dog planter vase. Very OLD spaniel/retriever dog planter vase, probably a Shawnee vase. It looks like it may have had cold paint at one time, but there is only one little speck of red paint left on his mouth. But he is really well-made, very thick, no chips or cracks, just some interior dirt. Look at the bottom of this one, very worn and very smooth. You can add your own cold paint!
Vintage Hull Pottery bear planter. c.1930's Shown in J. Snyder's 2001 book. The one shown in the book is priced over $100, however, it has more cold paint on it, and I believe it was signed by the artist. This one has only the cold paint on his face left. Good vintage condition though, no chips or cracks. Incised mark: USA #63. 6 long x 5.25 high. Great for shabby chic decor or for your Hull or novelty collection.
hummel
Goebel Hummel 'Hello'. This is a missing bee Hummel by Goebel, W. Germany, called 'Hello', trademark 6. He is stamped on the bottom and has the artist's initials: Sor 83', as well as the incised MI Hummel on the base. The missing bee mark is circa 1979-1991. This hummel was purchased in 1983 as the date on it reflects. He stands 5.75 inches tall and the numbers on the bottom are: 124/0 and 58. He also still has the original paper label as well with the name: 'Hello' on it. It was purchased from Hesslops in 1983 which was an authorized retail store in MI. The book value is higher. No box.
Fenton? green glass hat vase. This is a large daisy and button pattern green hat pressed glass vase. It measures about 4.75 wide x 3.25 high. No chips or cracks. This would make a nice gift for the person you know who collects these vintage hat vases. A viewer e-mailed me to say this is Fenton.
McCoy Pottery? U of M Bank. Go Blue! Cute little football shaped bank with the U of M logo. This looks almost identical with the McCoy Banks pictured in the McCoy book except for the logo, but I know they came with additional logos. This is not marked, but neither are the ones in the McCoy books, but I'll let you be the judge whether it is a McCoy or not. It is in good condition and heavy for its size, with a rubber stopper, with no chips or cracks. It measures 6 inches long x 3 inches high. If it is a McCoy bank, and I do believe it is, it is worth a lot more than this price!
For sale is a Hull matte white dish planter. Lovely free form oval flower dish from the 1960's. It is a creamy matte white with scrolly motif on the interior and exterior. It measures 8.5 inches long by 5.25 wide and is in good condition but for one small chip off the bottom rim. The bottom is marked: Hull USA F 16. Nice planter for a shabby chic, country cottage decor, or matte white or Hull cullection.
Nice vintage Royal Doulton cardinal toby mug. Small size, but not the miniature. Called the Cardinal. It measures about 3.5 tall x about 3.25 wide across hat; or 4.25 long from hat end to handle end He has the Doulton stamp on the bottom, an incised number #48, and the letter K, (artist's initial). He is in good vintage condition, just a bit of crazing on the bottom. This particular character was issued in 1939 and discontinued in 1960. A great gift for the Toby collector!
Artist signed, hand painted porcelain pansy footed bowl. This would make a lovely gift for someone on your list! This looks like limoges porcelain. It is signed 'Gabrielle'. The pictures just do not capture how truly beautiful this bowl is. It is 6 across x 4 high. The overall background color is a pale greeen, and it has pale yellow and violet colored pansy like flowers with green leaves. Very good condition, with no chips or cracks. Bottom of feet are very aged looking and smooth.
Antique brown onyx pottery vase. c: 1910-1930's. Likely Brush-McCoy or McCoy. It is marked like a lot of my Brush McCoy onyx pieces with a #742 at bottom and dry rim. Age est: c.1920-30's. Very nice, heavy vase. Both McCoy and BM made the onyx line, but 99% sure it is BM Pottery. It is 8 high x about 4 7/8 inches wide at top rim. A similar 8 inch onyx vase shown in Huxford's 1978 book, with 1996 updated values, was listed at $70-$115. No chips or cracks, just some glaze imperfections on one side of it that you can see in the pictures. (two small glaze misses). The interior has what appears to be some mineral deposits.
Vintage McCoy Pottery Birds and Cherries Vase. c:1940's. It has the raised bird and berry motif on one side and berries & leaves on the other side. It is marked McCoy Made in USA on the bottom. It is 8 high x 6 wide, and is shown in all the McCoy books. No chips or cracks, but does have the typical Mcflaws like noticeable glaze pops on the back side, and also some small glaze misses. Most of the noticeable pops & misses are on the backside so it still displays very well on the bird side. The 2002 bv was $60-70.00, (reference info: J.Snyder's 2002 McCoy Pottery book). Guaranteed authentic vintage McCoy, as are all my items.
china
Alfred Meakin lidded chamber pot. c:1914+. It is very pretty white w/raised harvest wheat pattern. It has the Alfred Meakin name with unicorn and wreath backstamp on the bottom. It has one very TINY glaze miss on the lid and one tiny fleabite off the bottom rim which does not permeate the visible portion of the pot, nor does it affect stance. This chamber pot looks magnificent on an antique washstand or in the powder room. Final sale!
Southwest style art pottery vase. Very HEAVY hand formed vase with a Southwest/Native American geometric design. Feels like stoneware; has ridges on interior indicating it was hand made. The black coloring on it is actually darker than the pictures show; my battery was low. This vase has an incised mark: SB RTR. and what looks like a symbol and a 5. Good condition, no chips or cracks. It measures about 6 wide x 3.25 tall. Would be lovely with mission, southwest style furnishings, or with other stoneware.
Vintage Pilgrim pewter basket. The basket has a darkened patina, and is marked on the bottom: F in a circle, Pilgrim Solid Pewter, J crown symbol F, #2201. The outside of this item is in quite good condition, just a couple of very tiny scratches; the interior is a bit smudgy in some areas, (aging process). It is 6.5 high from bottom to top of handle; x 5.5 wide one way, x 4.5 another. The nice thing about pewter is that it looks great in a variety of places, e.g., mantle, bookcase, kitchen. Did some on-line research, and Pilgrim pewter does not show up anywhere, thus, I do believe this is quite old, and the company that made it is no longer in business. You can use assorted pewter items on the table for Thanksgiving or X-mas with candles, dry flowers, candle rings; see pictures!
Antique McCoy? Mug. Being sold as a collectible display item only; I did not manufacture it so I don't know what is was made with; it might not be safe for food use. Nice OLD, HEAVY banded green glazed stoneware mug, (looks a lot like the one pictured in the McCoy book). I think it is likely a McCoy or Zanesville, or Morton, all made similar jugs like this one in the 1920's. It is 4 3/4 inches high by 3 inches wide at bottom rim. As you can see from the pics, it has a well-worn bottom rim indicative of age. The one like it in the McCoy book dates to the 1920-30's. This mug has no chips or cracks, just some glaze misses, pops and clay irregularities. I think it just beautiful though despite its little imperfections, and this is an OLD one afterall. The 2002 bv on the McCoy mugs is $25-35.
match holder
Vintage cast iron match safe. It is about 9.25 long x 3 wide and has an eyelet for hanging with a #2 on the back of it, and is very heavy. Good vintage condition. A very unique kitchen and tobacianna collectible! You can hang it by your fireplace and keep your long matches in it!
Awesome vintage Apollo card holder and Congress cards. The gold tone card holder has 4 slots; two will hold cards; other two might be for something else. It has incised name: Apollo on bottom. You also get 2 double decks of Congress playing cards (4 decks of cards in all). Only one of the 4 decks has been opened, the other three still have their plastic wrappers intact. One box features Yorkshire terriors, (neither of the card decks in here have been opened); the other card box features what looks like a Renior oil painting scene on them, (only one deck was opened). The opened deck does not appear to have been used. Nice for display or to use!
Congress Playing Cards. Double deck of cards and one single deck of Pinochle cards. The Pinochle deck has been opened, but does not appear to have been used much; the other double deck is unopened. The Pinochle deck say Congress Playing Cards Cel-U-Tone Finish in the back. The other box says: F.B.Wright and some people's names. I know Congress still makes cards, but not sure if they make them in these felt-like boxes. These would be nice on your vintage card table or to give as a hostess gift at your next card party!
hardcover
M.I. Hummel Golden Anniversary Album, copyright 1984, 1989 hardcover edition, with 320 pgs. Everything is in good condition, including the dust jacket on this book. Lots of full color pages and packed with information, a great gift for the Hummel collector!
Vintage Hyalyn Pottery pitcher. c.1943-1973. Nice pitcher with strawberries on it, very similar to the McCoy pitchers put out in the 1950's-60's. It is marked: #905, and 'hyalyn' in an oval, and USA under the oval. (see Lehner's book of marks). This pitcher is in very good condition, no chips or cracks, just one tiny irregular clay spot near the spout, but it is glazed, and is not chipped. This pitcher measures 6 high x 3.35 wide. Hyalyn was made in Hickory, N.C., and went out of business in 1973. It matches the cookie jar and canister set that I recently sold.
textiles
Vintage Battenberg Lace tablecloth. Very nice vintage white tablecloth that is free of any spots or tears. It looks wrinkly in the pics because it is. I washed it, but had no time to iron it. This tablecloth is made to fit a large oval table and measures 96 long x 64 wide.
